How do I recover music from my iTunes?

This has happened to me once before and I had to download all the music all over again. Does anyone know if there is anyway to recover the music from my iTunes on a laptop that no longer works? All the music is still on my iPod which I still have, can I connect my iPod to another computer and just transfer the music from that?

Your best bet would probably be to just transfer the music off of your iPod onto another computer. It's possible if you took your laptop somewhere they could recover your files, but that would cost money of course.

There are some programs out there that can do the iPod to computer transfer for you, but I prefer to do it myself (no risk of spyware etc that way). To manually transfer your music off of your iPod:

1. Enable viewing of hidden folders on your computer. How exactly to do this varies by operating system, so just run an internet search for "show hidden folders in ______" where blank is Windows XP or whatever operating system you have.

2. Connect your iPod to your computer and open it up using My Computer. When you open it up you should see a folder labeled "Music"

3. Copy that music folder to your computer - you can drag and drop it or do a right click and select copy and then right click where you want to transfer it to and select paste.

4. Import the music files into your iTunes library. There are options for doing this under the "File" menu in iTunes - by file will take one song at a time, by folder will take a whole folder of files at once.

Why is there no sound when I import youtube videos on windows movie maker?

I downloaded a couple of videos from youtube using youtube downloader and then converted them to wmv files. BUT when i imported the youtube vid on windows movie maker there is NO sound, I checked the volumes...EVERYTHING, but still no sound, please hotdamn HELP MEEEE

How do you fix the audio problem on Windows Movie Maker?

I use Windows Movie maker.
I often will take a music video, mute the audio so I can dub a remix over it.

I Preview it before I publish to WMV video. Everything's all intact.
But When I view it after it's published, Everything's out of place.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

if u had NERO installed preferably ver 8. U could use NERO VISION. just add the movies u want and burn immediately if you dont want to edit anything.

but if the volume of the video is quite low. you can just right click on the added video and see the properties. you should see there audio adjuster. try 150% (it's what i use usually).

Audio is not in sync with music when using Audacity?

I have two mp3s that I am trying to put together. The beats go together in the beginning, but as the 2 mp3s progress, they get out of sync.


If the music you are mixing was played by live performers, then as they play the tempo speeds up and slows down. Two songs that are done with drum machines would both have perfect timing, and if the bpm was the same they would match right up. Songs played live are not perfect, so if one song is slowing down and the other is speeding up, your tracks will get out of sync very fast. Since the problem is not a constant, but a varying change of tempo, speeding up or slowing down a track will not help, it will just sync a different section of the song. Trying to do this with each section of the song that gets out of sync will not have good results. You cannot fix it with Audacity.


First, examine the files. Do they really sync up or are they close enough in sync that it takes a while for the difference to become apparent? For instance, if one of the tracks is even 1/60 of a second off, after a minute they will be a whole second out of sync.

As to correcting the problem, gentle use of time stretching and alignment in the mixer might fix the problem. Otherwise, you can break the files up into smaller chunks, giving you better control over positioning specific beats to make them in sync. Trim and insert silence can also help.

You can not do this to the folders. This information comes from the files id3 tags.

You wold have to edit the files id3 information so that it displayed correctly in the folders.

If this is windows and you have windows media player 11, you can go to your library and highlight all the files at once. Then right click and select advanced tag editor and fill in the missing information. Make sure you don't highligt a group with diffrent attributes, like diffrent artist or album.

If you are making your own mp3's from cd's make sure it can retrieve the album information online. Then this information will be added automatically when creating new mp3's.

As this info is in each individual file, there is no magic bullet to make them all correct in one wave of a wand. I had once tried a unility that claimed to be able to update the id3 tags automaticaly, from it's database. But it failed a majority of the time and often gave the wrong information. How do your write swing music?

I have to write a piece of music for my composition class i wanted to write something with a swing feel. Only we haven't learned how to write anything but classical 4 part. We were encouraged to try different styles but i don't know where to even start.I took a class in musicality at a swing weekend. We had a live band and they played a song that started with a One Step rhythm, switched into a Charleston rhythm, then switched again into a Swing rhythm.

The melody was exactly the same. The drummer played a different beat and it was swing. We immediately changed our dance steps to match the different beats.

They also showed how, without a drummer, the bass carried the swing rhythm. And in absence of the bass and drummer, it was the left hand of the piano player.

On my itunes it has its own folder for my limewire music but i cant get that folder to download on to my ipodHit the "Explore" button at the bottom of your limewire, it's hard to miss. Can an iPod be powered from a wall outlet?

I recently got an iPod Touch, and an LG Dare cell phone, and the ell phone came with a female USB slot, and the phone connects to that with a 5-pin Mini USB cord. i had my friends i pod with some songs that i put on it from another computer.when i tried to add songs on it with my computer i tunes said i can only sync it with one version of i tunes at a time,and the only way to use mine was to erase all the songs on it and to sync with my version.this could be your problem as you are now using a different version that you installed again.so i didnt do it.i used a program called floola to put songs on it.my computer did recognize it though.when i plugged it in it installed the drivers.when you plug it in should see an icon down by the clock saying installing device.wait till this finishes.hope this helps.
