Whats is the diffresnts of 3G2 and 3GP ?

i can convert the videos to 3gp or mp4 format but i'm not sure which. just let me know which one i should convert it to and i will.. but what do i do after that? i tried to sync it into my music on windows media player but that does not work. how do i put music videos onto my phone and actually be able to play them?
i have the lg vu cu920. i also have the usb cord (that connects my phone and computer) and a micro sd card.
